Hillary Clinton and John Kasich, like Bernie Sanders before them, sat down with the New York Daily News’ editorial board. I think these interviews are very interesting and illuminating.
Here is the transcript from Hillary’s interview. She comes off as very knowledgeable on a range of issues, with a clear vision of what she’d like to accomplish if she were president, although she concedes that due to political realities she might not be able to accomplish everything she’d like if she is elected.
Here is the transcript from Kasich’s interview. I found it interesting that he claims to not want to share some details of his policy plans so they won’t get attacked too early and derailed. I also found it admirable that he says he’s willing to compromise and change positions in light of new findings, which, sadly, is probably a reason why he’s had such a hard time connecting with Republican voters, who seem to be overwhelmingly resistant to such things. There’s also a random Steph Curry reference (fun I suppose) and an arguably racist reference to drug use in Queens (not so fun).
