The Law Of Unintended Consequences

Many older progressives have taken issue with the concepts of safe spaces and punishing hate speech that have been set forth by younger protesters, especially college students.  The older progressives have noted that it’s not wise for marginalized groups to do anything that could silence speech based on content.  Not long after such warnings and consternation, it appears that with age may come wisdom.  THE Ohio State University stopped a student protest and part of the reason why is because some university employees allegedly felt that the protesters made their workplace no longer a safe space.

Many, including me, feel that the best remedy for hateful or unpopular speech is not less speech but more speech.  This is an example supporting that view.
